Goro's Sushi

Site:
gorossushisa.com

This is the first sushi place we wanted to review for this
blog when we first started this back in July 2009.
They were closed on a Sunday when we went.
So we went and discovered another great sushi place called,
Fujiya.
Almost two years later and here we are.
This is located in San Antonio.
In this occasion, we had a group of us for the first time.
Within that group we decided to have our
first guest reviewer, Danny Garza.

The menu:

Now on to the sushi:

Stephanie Roll
Fresh salmon, crunches, avocado, cream cheese
a dash of chili sauce inside.
Wrapped with lots of fresh salmon
& some teriyaki sauce & more crunches.
Good flavor. It was one of the favorites.
The salmon gave it a nice finish.

U.T Roll
Inside – out roll with tuna, salmon, cream cheese
& avocado inside, wrapped with shrimp
topped with shredded crab, shrimp mixed
in special sauce with lots of crunches.
The cream cheese stood out here the most.
Went down easy.

Robo Roll
Spicy tuna & avocado deep fried quickly served piping hot.
This was the worst roll we tried this day.
Bland and didn't stand out.
Fry anything and it should be very good, except for this roll.
So, for the first time in this blog history,
we didn't like a deep fried roll as much.

Top: Las Vegas Roll
Inside out: Spicy crab with sesame seeds,
sweet fish powder boiled shrimp & avocado
They put seaweed on top of this and made
it seaweed heaven. Very good and crunchy.

Bottom: Spider Roll
Soft shell crab with cucumber, smelt roe and avocado.
Peppery and crunchy.
Nothing exciting.
Not the best spider roll we tasted.

In the back: A regular Philly Roll.
Fresh salmon, cucumber, avocado & cream cheese.
They put too much rice on here
and less cream cheese and avocado.
So another downer.

In the front: Eva Roll
Tempura shrimp, cream cheese & avocado
inside & boiled shrimp outside
topped with teriyaki sauce, spicy mayo,
crab salad & beef teriyaki.
This is the roll we came here for.
Very good and creamy.
The beef teriyaki on top gave it a good finish.
Another favorite.

Back: O Roll
Fresh salmon, crab, shrimp green scallions,
avocado, cream cheese & masago inside.
Salmon crab, shrimp, avocado,
outside topped with teriyaki sauce,
spicy mayo & special crab salad
This is the number one favorite of the group.
Love everything about it.
Messy but delicious.
Front: Three Amigos Roll
Fresh salmon, crab, shrimp green scallions,
avocado, cream cheese & masago inside.
Salmon crab, shrimp, avocado,
outside topped with teriyaki sauce,
spicy mayo & special crab salad
Another favorite from a few people from the group.

Bonus:

Goro's Sushi serves free delicious Miso Soup and
Salad.

Wasabi: Average.

Price: $6.95 - $14.95 per roll.

Comments:
On the low budget sushi side,
this is probably not the choice to go with.
But, trying something different is always good.
The sushi here are bigger than usual.
Loaded with lots of stuff.

  1. Hey man,

I just read your comments on a film review on your blog and wanted to ask you a question, but couldn't find any contact information on your profile besides this. But yeah, kinda weird to contact someone on a movie review through a sushi review. (sorry about that)

Could you e-mail me at vegeta84@sbcglobal.net if you have a chance so I could talk to you about something.
