The low budget sushi eating mofos are back.
It's been 7 months since our last post but we're
back with a vengeance.
Our focus once again is to find good quality sushi
at an affordable price.
We hit a few spots that fit that criteria.
The first thing we look for is if they have a sushi happy hour.
That's when we get the most out of our budget.
This month's budget was 50 bucks total for two people.
That's including taxes and tip.
This month we hit up something different.
We went to a Thai restaurant that has a Japanese sushi bar
owned by a Chinese person.
What a mix we have here.
The place is Ka-Prow located in North Austin by I-35 and Howard Lane.
We ordered a total of eight sushi rolls.
That's 64 pieces here (the most we had so far).
And for the first time, we ate one roll before
heading to the next.
The Rainbow Roll
It was good, not great, but good for the first time kick.
Spicy Tuna and Shrimp Tempura
The spicy tuna wasn't that spicy but good flavor.
The Ka-Prow spicy sauce was great which is
their version of spicy mayo.
The Shrimp Tempura had a nice crunch.
Every single piece was crunchy and delicious.
Not special, but typical.
California Roll
We always order the standard California Roll
in every sushi place just to get us more full.
Taste like other California Rolls.
Scallop Roll
The after kick here tasted a little fishy.
This one asked for extra wasabi.
Philly Roll
You can't go wrong with the Philly Roll.
We love that cream cheese.
Caterpillar Roll
This one was a little messy. A lot of avocado.
Some of it fell apart. Still tasted decent.
Strong with wasabi.
And we save the best roll for last:
The Bacon Roll
This was everything plus more than we expected.
Crisp bacon, cream cheese, and some avocado
equals to a match made in heaven.
We should of ordered 6 of these rolls.
Overall, it was filling. The sushi pieces were
small, but that's why we had to order 8 rolls.
First time being served by a female sushi chef.
Wasabi: It was kind of weak.

This place didn't have much decor in it.
It was dark and quiet.
We would like to have this little fish here
in our next roll:
And add Bacon!!
